WELCOME NOTE

Christian Science

... as discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, refers to the universal, practical system of spiritual, prayer-based healing, available and accessible to everyone. Christian Science is a way of life. It is a dependence on prayer to God for answers. It teaches how to listen and get answers for life. Christ Jesus taught his disciples this healing method. In the Bible, the sixth chapter of Matthew, shows that Jesus taught us to pray "Our father ..." This shows us God's accessibility, and universality. The results are documented throughout the New Testament, and reinforces that we are all God's children.

Many instances of people having their lives changed for the better are also found in the Old Testament of the Bible. Mary Baker Eddy, in the middle of the 1800s, was seeking healing from a fatal fall on the ice. She caught a glimpse of Jesus' healing method, while studying the Bible and praying to God. The result was her healing ... and a life dedicated to writing Science and Health with Keys to the Scriptures, outlining this healing method. She also founded The First Church of Christ, Scientist, to promote this way of life. However, membership in the church is not a prerequisite for the practice of Christian Science.

To spread the good news of this revelation she also founded the Christian Science Sentinel, a weekly magazine with articles on Christian Science and testimonies of healings. The Christian Science Journal, a monthly magazine, also has articles and testimonies of healings along with listings of Christian Science churches, reading rooms, nurses and practitioners and teachers of Christian Science. The Christian Science Monitor is an international news organization that delivers thoughtful, global coverage via its website, weekly magazine, online daily edition, and email newsletters. All of these publications were formed by Mary Baker Eddy in her senior years. You can find out more about Christian Science by connecting to the links listed on the links page of this website.
